“It’s Like Pulling Teeth”

The assignment was to show movement in one picture. I thought it would be interesting to show someone pulling out a tooth.

Scenes

Fall 2010. Cut Paper.
I cut these objects out of black construction paper and used rubber cement(not my favorite adhesive) to glue them on a white background. The 4 scenes were thought of to represent “magical” (top left), “malicious” (top right), “long-term” (bottom left), and “melodic” (bottom right).

Abstracted Woman

Fall 2010, Acrylic Paint and Adobe Photoshop
This was a school assignment of many stages. I had to pick a picture, bring it into Photoshop and simplify it. Next, I adjusted the color scheme to find one i liked- I chose analogous plus black. Then, recreated it using acrylic paint. The picture was of a woman at her husbands funeral with a veil in front of her face. The picture, mostly the veil, simplified to a very interesting abstraction.
